报告摘要: We consider the compactness of solutions set of Q-curvature Problem. Wei and Zhao in 2013 showed non-compactness in dimensions 25 or above. Li and Xiong proved compactness in dimensions 5 to 9. In this talk we will prove compactness in the remaining dimensions 10 to 24. Our key observation is a cancellation property because of the amazing algebraic structure of the Paneitz operator. We also prove similar results for Q6 which admits 26/27 as borderline dimensions. (Joint work with L.Gong and S. Kim.)

专家简介: 魏军城，著名华人数学家，加拿大皇家学会院士。1989年获武汉大学学士学位，1994年获明尼苏达大学博士学位。历任香港中文大学伟伦数学讲座教授，加拿大英属哥伦比亚大学国家讲座教授（Canada Research Chair），现任香港中文大学卓敏数学讲座教授、香港特区政府全球STEM学者(Global STEM Scholar)。
魏军城教授的主要研究领域是非线性偏微分方程, 在国际数学期刊上发表论文超过500篇，包括《Ann. of Math.》1篇、《Invent. Math.》2篇、《SIAM Rev.》1篇、《Comm. Pure Appl. Math.》9篇、《J. Eur. Math. Soc.》4篇、《Duke Math. J.》3篇、《J. Differential Geom.》2篇、《Mem. Amer. Math. Soc. 》2篇、《Geom. Funct. Anal.》2篇、《J. Reine Angew. Math.》3篇《Amer. J. Math.》4篇、《Adv. Math.》9篇。
魏军城教授获得多个奖项和荣誉: 香港裘槎优秀科研奖(2005), 第五届华人数学家大会晨兴数学银奖(2010)，教育部自然科学一等奖，加拿大数学会Jeffery-Williams Prize(2020)，ICCM杰出论文奖（2024）香港特区政府全球STEM学者（2024）。他在2004获国家杰出青年科学基金(B类)资助，2014年应邀在第27届国际数学家大会上作45分钟报告，2019年当选加拿大皇家学会院士，2020年入选SIMONS基金会数学会士。
