Process in Cancer and Tissue Engineering

报告摘要:The presentation will discuss the research and approaches used in the development of photoactive nanomaterials based on photosensitizers molecules such as phthalocyanine, chlorine compounds and carbon quantum dot materials designed in a smart drug delivery system (DDS), as lipid nanoparticle, nanoemulsion or lipid protein nanoparticle used for imaging photodiagnostic of cancer or photobiomodulation process. The combination of classical chemotherapeutic drugs as Temozolomide with photosensitizer  active compounds has been proved to make a progress in glioblastoma brain cancer treatment protocol and could be used for other type of cancers based on the same concept. The classical approaches for treatment of skin diseases, tissue regeneration, and bone regeneration open also a new field in regenerative medicine. The 3D print process will allow us to scale up the production of organ and tissue repair, but also allow the design of new organ or tissue materials, what was called today Organ-on-Ship Technology.

报告人简介:Dr. Antonio C. Tedesco, a senior researcher at São Paulo University (USP) developing research in area of photobiology, photomedicine, and tissue Engineering. He has published more than 340 SCI research papers with more than 510 works presentation in scientific events, and presented more than 60 conferences, symposia and seminars. He has produced 11 chapters of book and 17 technological patents, of which six are registered. Dr. Tedesco is a coordinator of clinical and pré-clinical projects in photodynamic therapy at São Paulo Medical Hospital at Ribeirão Preto, Brasília (UNB-HRAN) and UNIFESP-SP. He also studies the use of nanocarbon materials for neurodegenerative diseases, cancer, and regenerative medicine.
