报告摘要：
Study of characteristic mode (CM) theory or theory of characteristic modes (TCM) and its applications to antenna design is a very hot topic due to the clear and useful physical meaning of the CMs. This talk will cover several aspects of CM theory and its applications to antenna engineering: (i) fundamental conceptof CM theory; (ii) CM study activities up to 2019; (iii) CM theory for PEC structures and its applications to electrically small UAV antenna design and HF band shipboard antenna design; (iv) CM theory for layered medium structure and its application to microstrip antenna design; (v) CM theory for DRA design.
