报告题目：Video Transmission in Heterogeneous Wireless Networks

报告简介：Wireless video applications, including the emerging virtual reality (VR) and argument reality (AR), have experienced dramatic growth. This results in exponential increase in the video data volume, which puts further pressure on the limited network bandwidth, and leads to congestion and low transmission efficiency. It is thus necessary to consider new wireless media networks aimed at improving the users’quality of experience (QoE). In this talk，we will introduce our recent research on resource allocation algorithms for heterogeneous networks.Firstly, considering that users can gaina ccess to both LTE and WLAN networks with multiple Wi-Fi access points (APs), we formulate an application-layer scheduling problem for real-time video transmissions over multi-RAT systems with multiple users. We propose a greedy algorithm and a penalty function-based algorithm to reduce the complexity in finding a solution of the NP-hard problem. Secondly, in order to address the QoE bottleneck due to the increasing number of cars, we propose the system that utilizes V2V communication to help V2I communication offloading and develop associated V2X access control and resource allocation algorithms. We also propose a heuristic algorithm to solve the NP-hard problem.
