报告简介：Due to the increased bandwidth demands by wireless services and low efficiency of legacy spectrum usage, constructive spectrum sharing can enhance spectrum efficiency while keeping mutual interferences within acceptable limits. Shared spectrum metrology relates to the science of measurement of spectrum activities and quantification of functional performance of coexisting wireless systems. The first part of this presentation covers a brief technical highlight of shared spectrum metrology work at National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), USA. The second part focuses on recent research results on coexistence between systems such as WLAN and LTE with license assisted access (LAA) in the unlicensed bands. We investigate the key performance indicator (KPI) metrics, such as probability of coexistence, of the LTE-LAA and WLAN systems under delay constraints. Furthermore, we analyze the differential QoS provided by channel access priority classes. The results can be used to achieve throughput and delay tradeoffs between LTE-LAA and WLAN systems, and precisely-controlled differential services in LAA transmissions. Finally, we discuss a few future research topics.
